    Responsibilities

     

    Functional Responsibilities:

    As a Backup and Restore Engineer Systems Engineer - Senior, you will provide services in support of the U.S.  Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM). You will provide operational and technical engineering support for the implementation, testing, integration, interoperability, and sustainment of information technologies comprising NETCOM Enterprise capabilities. You will support engineering support, testing and technical support in the implementation of the Network Operations (NetOps) capabilities. Support government efforts in continued deployment of enterprise NetOps capabilities that directly support the maturing transformation and modularity concepts, doctrine, architecture, and organizations.

     

    • Provide Army Enterprise backup and restore capability engineering and analysis support in the form of security architecture review, continuity of operations (COOP) and solution implementation, sustainment and validation for Army Enterprise capabilities. 
    • Draft, provide and execute enterprise plans for Backup, Recovery Disaster Recovery and COOP for test labs, preproduction, and production components.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve backup and restore related problems.
    • Research and analyze DoD and DA policies to mitigate integration problems that may impact the Enterprise projects. 
    • Prepare TTPs for implementation, upgrade, and standard procedures required for backups and restores.
    • Prepare, review and evaluate system design plans, COOP plans, disaster recovery plans, communication plans, engineering change proposals and configuration changes for compliance with Army policy, security regulations, policies, and best industry practices.
    • Prepare and provide input to program specifications incorporating required backup and restore features.
    • Develop, review, and execute backup and restore plans.

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Experience Requirements:

    • Current IAT III (CISA, GCIH, GCED, CISSP (or Associate), CASP). 
    • Current Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) (attainable within 6 months of performance start date)
    • Bachelor’s Degree in IT with > four (4) years practical experience or nine (9) years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education
    • Five (5) years of operational experience with components such as: Terminal Servers, CITRIX, Virtualization, Virtual Lab Manager, Veritas Netbackup and Clustering, NetApps backup, GridControl, Jumpstart, Kickstart, Tape and Virtual Library Systems
    • Travel :25%
