This position is for a software development engineer to support the project. Requires full software development life-cycle support, as well as working in an agile development environment.
Solves complex application development problems. Provides technical and administrative direction for personnel performing software development tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards, and for progress in accordance with schedules. Responsible for developing and implementing applications. Develops plans for software systems from project inception to conclusion. Analyzes the problem and the information to be processed.
Depending on the project phase and requirements, personnel may be required to work hours and days corresponding to customer’s work schedule. Travel and temporary duty to the customer location may be required for the selected candidate.
Software engineering and software development with strong Java/, JEE or C++ experience. The candidate will have experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as coding standards and configuration management. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment.
Possess project leadership skills and work independently with little oversight. Ability to multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Agile methodology experience. Experience developing enterprise Service Oriented Architecture applications. Familiarity with Java Foundation Classes and GUI toolkits. Knowledge of server side/database development, Computer System Administration; OS System Administration; Backup & Recovery; and command and control. Net-centric, horizontal integration program expertise is a plus. Linux environment, application server, and JMS experience. Previous Air Operations Center experience. Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking is highly desirable. Selected candidate must have good communication skills and work well in a team environment.
