    Responsibilities

     

    Functional Responsibilities:

    • Duties will include creating system-of-system scenarios, mission planning, asset operations, operator training, threat analysis and data transfers, hardware and software support operations. Collaboration with both blue planners and foreign weapon system analysts is essential to ensure scenarios and results match the assessed threat to support requests.
    • Identify system problems that are of an unusual or complex nature and develop corrective action.
    • Design data products, processes, or programs that enhance functional area management and provide for increased organizational optimization of IT processes for standoff munition mission planning product integration into a myriad of modeling and simulation systems.
    • Oversee the installation and configuration of applications software and the establishment of user environments.
    • Identify corrective or preventative procedures and takes actions to rectify immediate problems and prevent future occurrences.
    • Ensure maintenance and upgrade procedures are established in such a way as to minimize disruption to normal business functions of organizations within the installation.
    • Provide proactive consultation and instruction with system users to ensure seamless implementation of changes.
    • Coordinate with other IT specialists and management in identifying and correcting unusual or unprecedented problems and providing innovative approaches to solving them.
    • Test and evaluate current and proposed equipment and software enhancement and advises management regarding acquisition proposals designed to enhance mission accomplishment through automation.
    • Analyze complex processes and / or a variety of unusual problems, questions, or conditions relative to the design and/or selection of management information systems and applications software technology.
    • Evaluate vendor-developed software available over the counter to ensure defined subject-matter requirements can be accommodated.
    • Participate as a key member and advisor on special committees mid special projects designed to study methods to enhance the use of information technology throughout the installation.
    • Participate in developing strategic plans for enhancement of the system environment, developing functional and technical requirements for acquisitions, conducting cost benefit analyses, feasibility studies, and related activities.
    • Work with management to isolate and correct complex problems which hinder the capability of the organization to fully utilize information management technology.
    • Support customers through Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis. Develop Integrated Forces Analysis study plan detailing MOEs, assumptions, limitations, variables, run matrix and M&S architecture. Establish M&S architecture and verify operational accuracy. Execute run matrix and analyze results. Maintain contact with customers to know current and future requirements and communicate technical approach. Maintain a cooperative spirit to carry out the overall mission.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Experience Requirements:

    • Information Assurance (IA) Certification is a condition of employment.  This position includes IA work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate TA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.  A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3.  Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
    • Familiarity with DoD modeling and simulation environments.

     

    Desired Skills:

    • Possess experience: supporting customers through Modeling, Simulation, and analysis; Developing Integrated Forces Analysis study plan detailing MOEs, assumptions, limitations, variables, run matrix and M&S architecture ; Establishing M&S architectures and verifying operational accuracy; Executing run matrix and analyzing results; Maintaining contact with customers to know current and future requirements and communicate technical approach.
    • Possess experience: managing mission operation major modeling and simulation studies to include scenario creation, mission planning, asset operations, operator training, threat analysis and data transfers; Analyzing complex mission plans for strengths and weaknesses: Collaborating with analysts to plan scenarios to support customer requests;  Analyzing, briefing and providing feedback to planners and customers after studies.
    • Possess experience in: Technical Problem Resolution and Software Tool Development Research such as developing innovative ways to overcome technical challenges that impede modeling foreign missile systems for customers; Studying state-of-the-art techniques and applying those techniques to advance Mission Planning Modeling and Simulation capabilities to meet needs;  Developing tools to facilitate accurate and efficient use of the models.
    • Possess experience in: collaborating with DoD organizations and other government agencies on Integrated Forces Analysis for Mission Planning and CCMD projects; participating in Intelligence Center and COCOM discussions, working groups, or exchanges, candidate analytical studies; Documenting the requirements for each and reviewing  proposal plans ; Leading tasks related to mission planning efforts.

     

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Technical, Engineering, or Computer Information Systems related degree required or equivalent related military work experience (United States Air Force [USAF], United States Navy [USN] or United States Marine Corp [USMC]).

Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
