    Responsibilities

    Functional Responsibilities:                                                                               

          ISYS Technologies is seeking a Technical Writer. The successful candidate shall provide technical writing and training, including instructional design, development and learning delivery of online, recorded and classroom training for various PeopleSoft products such as HCM/HRMS and CRM.

     

     

     

      Job Duties:                                        

    • Instructional design and development of PeopleSoft training and learning materials, collaborating with SMEs and technical leads
    • Collaborate directly with application support and project teams to ensure that training stays on track according to project timelines and works effectively with supporting partners of systems, network, and data; escalates identified training issues or risks to Project Management and actively participates in mitigation/resolution
    • Work with Application Functional experts, and application developers to develop training materials and job aids for users of HR applications
    • Establish course content and objectives, conduct training sessions and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities. Responsible for updating course documentation on a continuous basis to ensure timeliness and relevance of content
    • Design, develop and deliver a variety of training materials as needed, including Instructor-Led Training (ILT), web-based training, user guides, instructor guides, job aids and Quick Guides. Lead various classes ranging from one on one sessions to classroom presentations, with instruction tailored to various audiences
    • Development and presentation of classroom training for targeted audiences (~15 users/session) provided at minimum weekly starting no later than one month prior to rollout
    • Development and presentation of Skype demonstrations for various audience levels (staff to sr. management) provided at minimum weekly starting no later than one month prior to rollout
    • Development and editing of How To guides, Operational Support Guides, Job Aids and Frequently Asked Questions tailored for either technical and non-technical audiences, either as online or handouts after demonstrations/meetings, to assist users in understanding new features and functionalities
    • Develop a documented method for measuring success of training materials; evaluate collateral and delivery methods

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Experience Requirements:              

    • 4-5+ years of combined experience of technical writing and training experience, preferably with the PeopleSoft suite
    • Possess UPK User Productivity Kit experience providing instructional training related to PeopleSoft HCM Suite applications
    • Communicates effectively with the PMO and departmental personnel in the coordination and scheduling of training events
    • Demonstrates ability to prioritize and coordinate work within approved plan, and maintains assignments with minimal supervision
    • Demonstrates excellent writing and communication skills. Understands and applies good editing skills, including how to self-edit documents for organization, clarity, consistency, grammar, spelling, and presentation
    • Experience with writing and editing end-user and technical support documentation, including user manuals, job aids, installation instructions, technical instructions from document plans and style guides
    • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts by analyzing existing documentation and technical specifications
    • Experience with MS Office, Visio, PowerPoint, UPK, Camtasia, SnagIt, Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017, or other instructional learning tools

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to work station. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
