    This position requires extensive experience in conducting system security verification and validation and process improvement.


    The Security Analyst works as specialist in data security and systems analysis techniques, plans and conducts analyses of unique or unyielding problems in a broad, mission critical system. The Security Analyst will work closely with government security teams to insure that security processes and procedures are in place and being followed.






    • (3 Years) Analyze system security problems that develop from use of automated systems.
    • (3 Years) Conduct fact finding, investigation, and analysis, with some testing requirements.
    • (3 Years) Assist with preparing briefings and may make presentations regarding system security enhancements or alternatives.
    • (2 Years) Experience using USDA implementation of Cybersecurity Assessment and Management (CSAM) security documentation system and procedures.
    • (3 Years) Independently perform knowledge management tasks using technical ability with database entry, SharePoint or similar information and knowledge management tools.
    • (3 Years) System analysis and knowledge of pertinent system software and computer equipment and of the work processes, applicable regulations, work load, and practices of the U.S. Government land and resources management agencies.
    • (3 Years) Recognize probable interactions of related computer systems to predict security impact of a system change
    • (3 Years) Verbally or orally communicate analysis in a clear, understandable manner.
    • (3 Years) Demonstrate proficiency simplifying concepts to prepare accurate written documentation and procedural resources. 
    • (3 Years) Work independently under overall project objectives and requirements.
    • (3 Years) Apprise supervisor about progress and unusual complications.

    Nice to have skills:


    • Familarity with data center environments (1 yr.)
    • Familarity with software testing (1 yr.)
    • Familarity with Sharepoint (2 yrs.)

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to work station. Occasionally, movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person, squatting/ stooping/kneeling, reaching above the head, and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
